Hello from Diedra, Scott, Carolyn and Zachary, we are the Reeses Barkery Family!

What started with one chocolate lab, one local pet store, and a passion for better pet nutrition has grown into something bigger than we ever imagined. After years of serving pet families through our McHenry location, we were excited to expand Reeses Barkery & Pawtique family into Barrington, Illinois.

Our story began in 2006 when Sharon and Ed Ahrens opened Reeses Barkery & Pawtique with a simple goal: to find better-quality food for their beloved chocolate lab, Reese.

In November 2020, our family became the next chapter of the Reeses story. We took ownership of the McHenry store and quickly began making it our own . We started expanding product selections, adding freezer space, remodeling, and finding new ways to serve the pets and people who walked through our doors.

But the most important part of our growth has never been the size of our store. It has been the community that has grown around it.

That support inspired us to take the next step and bring Reeses Barkery & Pawtique to Barrington.

Bringing the Reeses Experience to More Pet Families

Our Barrington location gives us the opportunity to reach even more pet owners who are looking for quality products, knowledgeable guidance, and a local pet store that truly cares about what goes into their pet’s bowl.

We’ve had pets our entire lives, and giving them the very best has always mattered to us. We’ve also watched the pet food industry change as many once-independent brands have been purchased by larger corporations. Those changes made us even more committed to paying attention to ingredients, sourcing, quality, and the companies behind the products we carry.

Our philosophy is simple: we won’t sell something we wouldn’t feel comfortable giving to our own pets.

We’re also not here to push every pet parent toward the same brand or product. Every pet is different and so is every family’s budget. Our Retail Rockstars are here to answer questions, walk the store with you, provide education, and help you find options that make sense for your pet, your lifestyle, and your wallet.

Community has always been at the heart of Reeses Barkery, and we’re bringing that same commitment with us to Barrington.

From supporting local rescues and hosting adoption events to participating in community activities and creating fun reasons for pet families to come together, we want Reeses Barkery & Pawtique to be more than a place where you pick up a bag of food.
